Construction Details of our Lofted Shed

  • All wall framing and LP SmartSide are nailed, not stapled. Galvanized nails are used on all exterior surfaces.
  • Our lofted sheds feature 2×4 framing at 16″ center spacing on 8′, 10′, 12′, and 14′ wide sheds. You can be sure your shed is built for the task!
  • 5/8″ 5-Ply “Sturdy Floor” – Exterior grade underlayment flooring over 2×4 joists spaced 16″ on center (Heavy duty garage floors are 8″ O.C.)
  • 4×4 Pressure-Treated Runner Foundation: To allow airflow under the floor so it stays dry, we use five runners on 10′, 12′ x, and 14′ x wide sheds and three runners on 6′ and 8′ x wides.
  • Shingles: Aluminum drip edge molding protects the roof edge from moisture deterioration. It comes in five colors and has a 30-year warranty.
  • Heavy-Duty “Lifespan” Hinges: With an ornamental black finish, they are fastened to the main frame of the building with screws for durability.
